Solid Recipes

These are recipes I’ve collected from around the place or have made myself using the basic ingredients of a velocity diet shake. I give credit where I should, as these aren’t all mine. You have to fiddle with them a bit as some powders are different and so on.

Velocity Diet Muffins

by daven @ T-Nation Forums

  • 2 scoops of protein powder (about 45-50g).
  • 2 Tbsp of flax.
  • 1 Tbsp of peanut butter.
  • 1/2c of water.

Just mix this all up with a whisk or electric mixer to get some air incorporated then pour into cup cake pans. They won’t rise much if at all so you can fill basically to the top. Now cook at 180C for about 8-12 minutes. I find them better when they’re cold and as daven said they are dry so you should eat them with some water. You can put other flavours in but so far I like chocolate powder with a bit of coffee.

Microwave Velocity Diet Muffins

  • 2 scoops of protein powder.
  • 2 tablespoons of milled flax seed.
  • 1/4 cup of water.

Mix all the ingredients and place in a coffee cup you’ve sprayed with oil. Microwave for a minute or so and then cut out of the cup. Leave to cool a little then slice and eat. You can put the peanut butter in the mix or spread it on the sliced muffin.

Velocity Diet Trifle

I don’t know if anyone has thought of this combination but here it goes.

Basically you make up your diet jelly as per usual. Each serving of this is about 0.2g of carbs and 3g of protein so it’s pretty freaking good. Now you chop up a V-Diet muffin into little cubes and mix through a portion of jelly. I eat it like this and it’s a good breakup from the hardness of the muffin and the soft watery-ness of the jelly. I guess if you wanted to you could pre-make some protein powder pudding and add that as custard but I’m yet to try this.

It’s really quick, really easy, and perfect fine for you.

Protein Pancakes

This has taken quite a bit of trial and error and it depends on the powder that you use so I’ll just give a brief guide and then you’ll have to tweak it yourself.

Take two eggs and a scoop of protein powder (about 1/4c of powder) and mix it with enough water to make a pancake batter consistency. Whip it up good as it’ll really hold air pretty well.

Now cook on a medium heat for about 20 seconds. You’ll see bubbles coming up and you can actually see it cook through as it’s pretty quick.

Flip over and cook for about 10 seconds on the other side.

It will continue to cook but you’ll probably want to play with the cooking time.

These taste delicious and come out very cakey for me.
