Changes This Week

Changes, Velocity Diet Log No Comments

There has been some changes I’ve noticed this week, actually there have been small changes all along the way but they haven’t been anywhere as drastic as last time so they’re hard to pick. Veins that come and go with hydration and carbs and exertion are a big one.

Forearms are definitely more veiny and on the bottom I can start to see the main vein running up and down but then sometimes can see a few other auxiliary ones. It’s just way more vascular in general and I’ve mainly noticed that become far more permanent this week.

Main vein on the bicep is visible most of the time but now also sometimes there is some veins that go across the biceps. Easily visible when exerting myself but also sometimes at rest.

Definition top and bottom of the top two abs, and pelvic bone definition visible.

Vein on the right shoulder has been slowly creeping across my chest.

Striations on my shoulders.

Veins where my thighs meet my abdomen.

I can feel like a crease in my face when I smile, it’s kind of weird actually I’ve never felt my face when it’s moved.

Triceps are showing horseshoe shape with the small tip near the elbow.

Back is much more defined and I can see traps and lat seperation and some erector seperation at rest.

Tear drop on thighs at rest as well as hamstring/quad seperation at rest. Also thighs have stopped becoming a lump and the smaller muscles on the inside between quads and hamstrings are seperated and visible.

That’s about it. It’s going to be small changes from now on but it’s nice to notice something new from time to time and realise it’s all because of the day to day grind.

Changes

After The Diet, Changes, Notes No Comments

One morning this week I woke up and had great definition in my top two abs and some really noticeable definition to the side of them too, it was a vision I guess of what can be soon.

This week I definitely have noticed the veins on my forearms coming out more and the vein growing across my right shoulder and chest.

Veins on my thighs have become more noticeable as has the changing shape of my things from blocky round things to having some muscular shape especially tapering into the knee. Squats and especially half squats are I think what has helped here a lot. I’m increasing definition while increasing size so I the muscle is really growing here.

There has been some noticeable changes in definition to the upper arms and shoulders as sometimes you’ll catch some definition between the delts on the shoulders rather than just roundness. Tricep horseshoe is starting to become visible too and the upper arm is becoming defined at just ordinary relaxed state.

Back is another area where sometimes I am surprised when I see myself. I think another couple of weeks of hard work will really pay off in this area. Much more definition in the traps and lats is what I’m noticing.

So the changes are still coming, they just aren’t so huge anymore. A little more definition here and there, a new vein, it’s slow but it’s worth it.

Suit Re-Fitting

After The Diet, Changes No Comments

My best mate is getting married next week and as such I’ll be in a suit. I went and got my suit fitted earlier in the year, about mid way through January and knowing that I have dropped a lot of weight I thought it prudent to go and get refitted earlier rather than later. No surprises thanks.

So I dropped from a 42R pants to a 32/34 (she said if I lose any more weight they’ll probably drop me to a 32) and from a 46″ jacket to a 42″ jacket.

I don’t really have any pictures of me at my current size, and while I think I look roughly the same, probalby because my head is still catching up, one of my friends has said that my facebook pic doesn’t look much like me at all. I’m sure there will be plenty of pics at the wedding though, and in a suit too so you can’t really look that bad can you ?

So there are the losses in concrete. Hopefully on Monday I’ll be around the 92kg mark. That’ll mean I’m well on target to meet 90kg by my birthday!

Vascularity Changes

After The Diet, Changes No Comments

This week I noticed that there are more veins coming out on my shoulders and arms, also in my upper thighs veins are starting to become visible. These are all just while in a normal state, not while pumped after exercise or a workout. To be honest with the reduced carbs I’m not sure workouts actually make a huge difference to vascularity like they used to. I do notice though after a carby meal that veins will become fuller.

So the big ones I noticed this week is a vein on my left shoulder that is like my right shoulder has had for a while. It’s quite noticeable now though it might take another week to be there all the time. My right shoulder has begun to have veins running across the top of my chest and also some more on the side of the shoulder running down the arms.

I’ve also noticed crossing veins on the bicep from time to time rather than just the big one running down the length of the arm. Also veins on my forearm are plainly visible now which was surprising to me, also the smaller ones on the underneath of my forearm are beginning to be more visible more of the time.

Veins on my upper thigh are quite easily visible now though they’ll take longer to truly come in.

Upper abs are still around the same point, I don’t think I’ll notice much difference until I hit single figure body fat. I’m pretty sure I’ve read a couple of times the main differences are 16%, 12% and 9%. I probably have two to three weeks to go to see a major difference again as definitely there were changes at around 16% and 12% last week.

So most of the changes at the moment aren’t really muscular and definition but vascularity as they have less fat between them and the skin.

I’m still on track without launching into another V-Diet run as I’m only 3kg off my goal and I have four weeks to get there. I’m really hoping by next week I’ll have hit the low 92’s and that will put me in real spitting distance of the win.

Abs

Today in the mirror while stretching my arms up to do something I caught some definite stomach definition. Top two abs are peeking through as they say. Yes! I’m on track too my current body fat percentage is about 12% which is about right for seeing what I’m seeing.

So I said I’d see what I wanted to do at 12% and what I want to do is keep losing body fat and maintaining muscle mass which is what I’m doing at the moment. I’m dropping very low amounts of muscle each week for about a kilo or more of fat and I’m happy to continue doing this until I’m at 10% which should be well within the time frame I set.

Recent Noticeable Changes

After The Diet, Changes No Comments

After the boozy and shit food weekend last weekend it took three to four days to get back to where I was before, though I was still probably losing body fat it’s surprising how much that extra retained water can change how you look. On Monday my biceps were just lumps but by Friday I could see the definition between the short and long head again. Veins came back that had gone away a little and so on.

My eating and exercise this week was very strict. No daily treat not even a jelly bean and I had milk in my tea only once or twice. I missed one BJJ session due to time constraints but this was replaced by a bit of dancing and an unplanned walk on Wednesday after work. All in all it’s been a really solid week.

This week the most noticeable change for me have been in the chest, thighs and stomach. From side on I am starting to get definition in the stomach and it’s beginning to noticeably draw inwards from my chest to my stomach and a bit of a seperation down the middle is beginning. This has happened a couple of times probalby due to not eating a big meal or whatever so the potential is there to be permanent at some time. Thighs are definitely becoming more defined though there is a long way to go there but they’re coming along in a noticeable way week to week. My chest has become noticeably better in the last week and this might have to do with increased workload.

So over this week I think the main changes have been thighs and chest and it’s good to still be able to see noticeable changes (if only to me) from week to week rather than having to wait a month. I’m fairly positive about stepping on the scales tomorrow and doing the measurements and depending on where I sit tomorrow I will see if my goal of 90kg by my birthday is reasonable or not.

It’s the V

After The Diet, Changes No Comments

There is a common shape that guys get as they lean out that starts about the waist and triangles down to the groin. I noticed this coming out this morning. The outter part has been there for quite a while, but nowhere near as noticeable. I think it’s mainly to do with the loss of fat on the stomach and is probably the start of a the long grind ahead to some definition around there.

Also noticeable in the last week has been the separation in the biceps bracchi (what people refer to when they’re talking about biceps) rather than just one round bit of flesh.

Calves have started to become more defined recently too.

The changes are definitely slowing down to probably one or two a week but they are there. This is definitely the part that I’ve heard called the grind. You just have to keep doing what you’re doing and know there will be progress at the end. It helps to measure body fat here because at least I know I *am* progressing.
