About Me
I’d consider myself your typical 27 year old Australian male except without all the shit parts of that stereotype
I have been overweight all of my life but some parts more than others, in the last two to three years I have been able to discover a livable life and maintain an active lifestyle.
In August 2005 I was about 190kg I don’t know how heavy I was because I had to lose some weight so that the scales I bought would register a weight. More than 190kg is fair to say though. At that time for one reason or another I decided this was not the life for me and I wanted to lose weight. From August 2005 to about June 2006 I went from that 190ish kilograms to 93kg so lost probably 100kg in 12 months. I had read a little about nutrition and losing weight but most of it was done just eating less and exercising a lot.
At my lightest of 94kg my general exercise would be running 12km a day with a 25km run on the weekend, 150-200km of riding, climbing once a week and weights 5 times a week. It was nuts. At this stage I started to read a bit about nutrition and weight lifting and decided this was more likely what I’d like to do.
Since being at my lightest in around June to September of 2006 I have continued to put on weight while maintaining roughly the same body fat percentage. I think that I’ve put on about five to six kilos of muscle in the last 18 months. I’ve only started to become serious about things very recently.
My goal weight in my first run of the velocity diet is probably around 95kg, my goal overall is to be around 90kg and I think that will require another run of the velocity diet in April 2008.
Since starting this journey in 2005 I have gained a massive interest in exercise and nutrition and hopefully this site can help some people with their questions or to see what can be done with a bit of perseverance.
